Brazilian GP: F1.com vid

Check out the Brazil video on Formula1.com, it’s awesome. And the part where the Ferrari mechanic, after telling Massa’s dad that Felipe hasn’t won the world championship, smashes the huge sign in the garage is classic. You can’t beat a bit of Italian passion. Looky here.

I knew Ferrari were terrible losers. McLaren would have just hung their heads and took it with good grace.

That said, I have a huge amount of respect for Massa. he was quiet but also very friendly – he’s a very likeable driver and he seems to share a sense of warmth with Hamilton. He’d have made a better champ than his teammate thats for sure.

not not about being a sore loser its about passion and thats what ferrari have. thats what their cars are built on and always will be.

i feel really bad for massa he had such a great season and if if wasnt for his engine failure in hungary 3 laps from the end it would have been his. just proves how much luck comes in to play.

congratulations to hamilton on his maiden championship it could not have been done in more of a nail biter that is for sure.

Admittedly i was rooting for Massa to take hte championship on his home ground that would have been amazing. Still however it was a great end to what has been a very dramatic season and close.

Ash, I disagree with you. Ferrari is just as bad a loser as anyone racing. Put yourself in their position. That mechanic that punched the glass had to deliver the news that Lewis had passed Timo to Older Massa. That is beyond a heartbreak. All of a sudden, they went from win to loss. Nothing could ever suck that much. In my opinion, they lost very well. The crowd, on the other hand, did not take it so well as seen by the Toyota team having to dress in Renault uniforms to escape the throngs. Ferrari took this with an amazing amount of class. For that, I respect them (even though if you look thru the rest of my posts on this site, you will find that I have been rooting for Lewis and McLaren the entire season.). You have to give Ferrari it’s due here. They raced an excellent season and a decision regarding a 3400 mile season had in the last 1/2 mile of the season makes it an epic season.

Otherwise, formula1.com has done a ridiculously good job this season with coverage and the videos. I’m really happy about the quality of this video. I really hope the BBC can put up that quality of video on their website. Also, give us F1 in HD in the United States!!!! I would give my left testicle for that. Combined with a return of the US GP in possibly New York, my life would be complete. All I’d have to do would be ask my girlfriend to marry me and I could die happy.

Being a bad loser is blaming someone else for your own faults, which is something the brits are very keen on doing all the time.

The italian was upset, and thats how they express their frustrations ^^

Those f1.com videos are always great, i watch them all the time when i´m bored.

Well put to those of you who see this as passion. No one other than cyborgs or full out robots would simply shrug and whisper “fiddly-dee, maybe next season.” when you want something so badly, only to have it slip in such a close fashion.

It just so happens the cameras were there. If you think for a moment everyone is dignified in the back room after losing, you’re delusional.

Brilliant video. Can I buck the trend here and say well done to ITV for their coverage of the race? For once James Allen actually conveyed passion in his commentary. We’ve all criticised him over the years but I’m glad his last race was this one. Brundle as ever was superb. Thanks chaps.

I’ll criticize James Allen a little more thanks, passion or not, the man doesn’t know jack s**t about F1, he was saying Glock’s times weren’t dropping in the wet even though he was losing like 5 seconds EVERY LAP. he doesn’t understand that being in 11th place isn’t “disastrous” when every other driver in front still has to make their pit stop and you’ll be in 4th again in 2 laps.

it’s bloody ITV, he’s the formula 1 equivalent of David Pleat on the damn football. I could do their sodding job better than them.

Cmon now have some praise for Massa at least. Technically Ferrari didn’t lose only Massa did. Ferrari are actually world champions in constructors so I do not know where this we lost thing came from. The dude was expressing his frustration because to have someone else decide who the title of world champion should go to is wrong, is sort of what he was probably thinking. Anyways I don’t know if the best man won or if it was just sheer dumb luck but whatever Lewis is champion Congrats to him. Massa would have been just as deserving if not a lot more. He showed he was the best man in terms of morals at the end of the day.

I think anyone suggesting ferrari has shown anything less than quite exemplary sportsmanship in this hardest of situations is kidding themselves. I read ‘Marcus’ comment before. I’m betting you let out a cheer when Lewis won, and i’m betting you let out a cry of anguish when vettel made the pass on him. I think everyone who truly loves formula 1 would have been moved to acts of passion by that race. Passion is what makes formula one special and both teams showed so much. It was a fantastic year and despite wanting Massa to win i could never have been unhappy with the result. What a sport!

btw, Ferrari got another title for constructors. 8th in 10 years. I bet the reason of that is their passion. you may like them or no, but you can not say it’s just a business for them.

its about time the drivers n teams showed some passion, formula 1 is all the better for passionate latin tempraments. ferrari seemed to clinical in the schumacher era, felipe massa is a brilliant driver.

After the race Charlie Whiting said that they told Hamilton that he should let Vettel pas, because hij would go past Glock anyway. Hamilton said the team told him that he should get past Vettel again for 5th. Very stand up guys at McLaren. Not honest enough to admit they almost blew it (the best driver of all time struggling for 5th? How did that happen?), and not intelligent enough to get their stories straight.

Post 27, the title was not decided by “someone else.” whether Glock pitted for wets, or stayed out and rolled the dice like he did, he would have been a non-issue either way. It just turned out that staying out on dries made the end a nail-biter.

Felipe Bassa, if you think McLaren copied anything off the Ferrari because of “Stephney-gate,” you don’t know the facts.

first of all, the info in question was regarding the F2008 in pre-season spec. and the one McLaren guy who saw that info saw it mid-season. If you know anything about F1 you’d know that the F2008 from about 2-3 races in would be almost completely different than the pre-season car. Even if McLaren had made a complete copy of the F2008 from the info in question, it would be an obsolete car. probably about 1.5 seconds slower than the mid-season F2008.

second of all, it was never proven that anyone but that one rotten apple at McLaren saw that info, so stop talking crap, do some research, and use some logic.

and all the people who think Vettel demolished Lewis, get your facts straight. The Toro Rosso was running a HIGH DOWNFORCE rear wing, and the McLaren was running a low downforce, almost Monza-spec rear wing. in those wet conditions, with rain being the great equalizer, the amount of downforce a car is running makes all the difference, and as it stood, the Toro Rosso was actually the quicker car in terms of setup (in the rain), before even taking the drivers into consideration.

    LEWIS #1!!!

But they have admitted testing Ferrari’s data on their simulators.
And as for Vettel, everybody understands that in F1 its a matter of car and driver. Vettel probably had a better race setup because the Toro Rosso is inferior to the McLaren anyway.

As F1 has got so boring over recent years. Bernie has done a good job in turning F1 into a huge money maker, but in doing so, the tracks have become far too safe and boring. Drivers can t even look badly at each other, let alone carry out a bit more competive driving, without a fine ban or losing points. I remember F1 in late 80 s early 90 s, now that was Racing!!

@axf1 Glok was going as fast as he could you moron. Look at his lap times and look at Trulli’s. They were both in the same car on the same tyres going the same pace. Why do you say you want to kill him? Seek therapy.

What about the extra points Massa got given for nothing, other than the fact that Ferrari seem to be supposed to win and hate losing. Lewis passed Felipe and gave him back the place so quick you wondered how he managed it, which is damned good racing and extremely quick thinking and reactions and then got penalised for doing NOTHING WRONG. Where did the rule you must wait for the next turn ever come in. Invented by Bernie no doubt.

All Us english are sucking up 2 hamilton because hes britsh, people who watched f1 before hamilton came supported different nations and nationalities i personaly from a young age of about 3 supported shui and never changed my supportion even though im british and 15. I support massa because of how much porgress hes made and with the backing of micheal im deffenatly guna support him. Massa earned the right to become world champion, some of the drivers like hamilton are only as good as their cars but un like hamilton massa had to put a lot of effort and years in to advancing through the ranks of sauber to acchive the goal of ferrari. So personaly i think massa should have won the championship… Hamilton supporters have been banging on about how hamilton got un fair deductions of points… do they ever think of massa, his engine failed at hungry and got numurus over taking penilties in many races like monza and fuji when that was all hamitons fault, so massa over all lost at least 30 points when hamilton technicly only lost half of that.

Lewis Hamilton has shown he is one hellafa driver. What was his driving force, the car,the money, his determination or was it simply he had something to prove?
I know this will sound like sour grapes to most of you but I was so sick of the media coverage of Lewis including adverts that I wanted some-one else to win, anyone.Nauseating is how I and my wife put seeing Lewis where-ever and my wife does not watch F1.
I hope the BBC will give equal coverage to,if not all, then at least the top 6 or 7.I hope 09 will not become another nauseating year being force-fed just one F1 driver no-matter who he is.
