Michael Schumacher is all set to make a Formula One comeback at the Euro GP in three weeks.
Schumacher has agreed with Ferrari bosses to replace the injured Felipe Massa, providing the seven-time world champion is declared race fit.
Michael had a motorbike accident earlier in the year, so Ferrari want to check there aren’t any physical problems before officially announcing him and getting him in the F60.
A car he hasn’t ever driven, and due to the testing ban this year, one he won’t drive until Friday practice in Valencia.
A day that we’re already looking forward to, as are many of you, and no doubt so are many of the drivers.
Lewis Hamilton has said in the past that Michael is an idol of his, and he always wanted to race against the Ferrari legend.
Now it looks like he’ll get his chance.
One man who probably isn’t looking forward to Big Schu’s return though, is fellow Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen.
Imagine if the German steps into the car and destroys Kimi’s lap times straight off the bat?
That will not look good for the Finn.
But anyway, what do you think’s going to happen?
One thing looks likely at least, and that is Schumacher closong out the season with Ferrari, while Felipe recovers.
And Michael’s been known to be quite handy when it comes to developing a car and squeezing every 100th out of it…

What do you think?

Schumacher V’s Hamilton – on an even playing field, no contest – Schumacher wins.
Now what I want to see is Schumacher V’s Alonso! Maybe not in Valencia, but Spa! Can’t wait!

Lauda made a come back and Won the World Championship,
Can Schumacher?
This Year is Webber’s time to fit it out with Button!
If Massa has ABI (acquired brain injury) he will sadly never race again.
Don’t change what we have right now except get rid of the Kerbs.

gerhard berger once said that after he climbed into the benetton that schuey left after going to ferrari, the car is handled very differently from what he is accustomed to. so it stands to reason that schuey could have either some difficulty driving a car that suited massa’s feel or he could develop it to suit his driving style. . . this will prove once and for all his genius. . . in driving a car that was setup not for him and driving it at or near the head of the field. . . if he suceeds, it will definitely etch his legend in granite. . .

Knew when Massa was injured they would turn to Schumacher.
Anybody who thinks he is ring rusty, think again.
Schumi helped develop the F1 car and knows everything about it.
He has remained fit and it will not be a problem to catch up with the newbies.

I’m so pleased that Schumy’s coming back and really hope we get a good race – it’s a long time since we’ve heard the German Anthem followed by the Italian – they were like verses one and two of the F1 Anthem.
On a serious note – what about poor Luca Badoer the Ferrari test driver. Normally he would be the natural choice to take the drive. I wonder if Kimi’s fabulous performance in Hungary prompted Ferrari to play their trump card. They could still save something out of the season, and if they hadn’t played Schumy they could have been accused of making the wrong decision later on.
I’m so looking forward to Valencia. Good luck Felipe – hope everything works out for him. He’s a fine driver and seems a really nice person.
Having said all of that, COME ON LEWIS!!

why do people think that schumi’s the stig ?? that was just a publicity appearance on the show.. it was pretty obvious that schumi’s going to turn up on the episode cuz he is the only one who has a black FXX.. all the others are red.. and hes also prob the only guy who can convince ferrari to let him take out the FXX

I wonder how Schumacher will solve the money issue. He _is_ a (very well?) paid consultant to Ferrari, but i guess he still will have to ask for “combat pay” for doing any racing, otherwise he would spoil the prices for the other drivers. But he can’t be seen to profit from Massas missfortune and pain, that would be the end of his – allready slightly stained – image.
I would suggest he gives all the proceedings from his races as substitute to a charity of his and Massas choosing. That would set a nice tone to this whole unfortunate affair. Maybe Bernie can be coaxed into also giving a dollar for each dollar Schumi gives. Michaels F1 return will fill Ecclestones coffers to the point of bursting, so he might need to relieve the pressure a bit

Unfortunately he isn’t returning. He has neck problems which he had inflicted in a motorcycle accident earlier in February. Massa’s replacement will be Ferrari’s test driver, Luca Badoer.
