Monza in three minutes

With all the hoo-ha surrounding the Renault Crashgate fiasco, it’s easy to forget that F1 is actually a sport we love, and that every now and then we get to watch some cars racing.

Some very fast cars, driven by some very ballsy men, being told what to do by some extremely clever people.

If you can’t remember what on earth this is all about, then you should head over to Formula1.com, where they’ve just put up the latest three-minute video edit of the Italian GP.

F1.com’s videos are always good, and this one is too. We like the treatment when Flavio Briatore makes an appearance right at the beginning.

Turn 1 at Monza never gets any less hairy looking, does it? No matter how many times you watch it.

It’s pretty amazing that no one crashed there, on purpose or otherwise…

Aye the videos tend to be good, good backing music. Here’s to hope for a clean race this weekend.

These videos just get better and better. I’d actually love the job of putting the clips to music at the end of the BBC show, it’s always awesome :D

I’m absolutely gutted, it seems there is a global war on motorised vehicles going on! Almost always when you see or read anything that has to do with co2 the subject turns to cars, the Belgian government decides to close Spa because of noise complaints that have been there for many many years, I almost feel guilty for owning a beemer with a 6 cylinder engine!

Where will it stop? Will we all be driving electric Smarts in 10 years time?

Petrolheads speak up, I can’t be the only one who feels this way?

The videos have always been good, its just a shame they forbid you from downloading them.

Van Driver, it’s just the people living near the circuit who filed a complaint that are idiots, not all of us Belgians. It reminds me of a similar issue we had earlier near the Brussels Airport. If those people can’t cope with the environment, why do they live there in the first place? The Spa circuit has been around for almost a century, it’s not as if the noise problems came about suddenly. Anyway, as of today, the circuit is opened again and things are back to normal.

The Monza video is good indeed. Was that a Force India driver who almost ran over his pit crew?

Still likely to be more bitter recriminations from Piquet Snr over Crashgate.

And Flavio might not let it rest either.

I must admit, alongside Suzuka and Silverstone, Monze is one of my favorite tracks ever! It’s amazingly chalenging band always chugs out some great racing (I used to like the old Hockenheim track, but they don’t race on it anymore…)

@14 Lunchi

I’m sorry. I see how it looks like.

Belgians are known for their genious in making beer and politics and I would never intend to offend you as nation. Aldugh your motorways are sh*t.

People who are short minded enough to complain about circus that comes their way for a week every year. Instead of going out and having fun as everyone else.

If you don’t like racing just move away from the bleedin’ race track. It’s not like it was built there yesterday!

@ Van Driver

Exactly. The only people old enough to have lived there before the track was built probably can’t be bothered anymore, or they’re deaf anyway.

And you’re right about our motorways! But the politics are just a big mess…

@Van Driver:”People who are short minded enough to complain about circus that comes their way for a week every year. Instead of going out and having fun as everyone else.”
Actually that’s just one weekend of F1… last week there was another weekend of FIA GT, and during the last week of July there was the 24hours race… It’s much more then “just” a weekend of noise

I do agree with you though, the track has been there far longer then they have, can’t stand the noise, well then buy yourself a cabin in the middle of the forest and then stay there… that’s like killing two birds with one stone, they have their peace and quiet and we got our motorsport :)

Spa is the only thing alive in that area. Those guys are note aware that they are having the best track in the world! Only Monza and the old Hockenhem are coming close. btw .. still don’t get how Alonso is coming away again .. is he privat with Mosley or something??
