Right. Dead simple question: who’s going to scoop the drivers’ title in 2010?
We could be all properly journalistic and give you a round-up on who’s looking quick in pre-season testing and speculate wildly on which teams will adapt most quickly to this year’s rule changes, but… hell, it’s much better when you lot do it in those commenty things at the bottom that we don’t really understand but occasionally seem to make people SPEAK IN CAPITALS A LOT.
So, once again, who’s your pick for the drivers’ championship? Vote below using our amusingly inept Votamatron.
We’re going for Hamilton. No, Schumi. Actually, Vettel. Though Alonso’s going to be quick too. Doh.

There is quite a few good drivers in what should be good cars, so it could be an interesting year. Although with no refuelling its hard to imagine there will be that many opportunities for position changes.

I’m going to stick my neck out and say that it will probably be someone who’s won it before.
I voted for Pedro though because that’s what a t-shirt which I saw once told me to do.

Schumacher 11%, Vettel 11%, Massa 15%, Alonso 17%, HAMILTON 34%!? There will be differences among these drivers’ times due to differences in performance, but they are all in top teams and I reckon they have similar chances of winning the championship. Schumacher has 7 titles, Vettel is a talented driver, Massa proved he could win a championship (I’ve always wondered how much was in the suitcase McLaren sent Glock’s team in the closing laps in Brazil), Alonso now has a team working for him (not against him) and talented though he may be, Hamilton does not have a car already set up for him by Alonso. That 34% smells of national pride.

keeny88 I’m not too sure about the lack of position changing, especially seeing as pitstop strategies can be an awful lot more flexible, without the burden of going heavy or the necessity of pitting by a certain point for fuel. I’m hoping for Hamilton.

well at the moment i think anyone in the top 4 teams could win it, although i think rosberg will not. jenson could be in with a chance, but something tells me he wont make it 2 in a row. NOT SCHUMACHER!!!!!! Just remembered, mercedes has brawn, so he will go a good job this year

I´m with Rixelieu, though I don´t think Glock has nothing to do with Hamilton´s championship. The kid is quick but I don´t think he´ll stand a chance in a very competed championship. He´s quick but inconsistent and needs the best car to win. Schummy will always be a contender, same as Alonso. The biggest quiestion for me is how strong the Red Bull team will be.

Sherloqc, may I ask what you are on about there? I’m no raving mad fan but Hamilton easily shined last year even with a flawed car.
On the subject, well it could easily be anyone from McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes or Red Bull, its just to open at the mo.

Rixelieu – what are you on about? Glock made the choice to keep his dry tyres on before hamilton had been overtaken so mclaren hardly paid toyota to do it? And he won his championship in a year without alonso as a teammate, all alonso did was lose hamilton the title in 2007

As I’m from a country that does not have any driver, team or even GP in the calendar, I can be totally unbiased. Even though I have hated Ferrari all these years, I have to say Alonso has been doing great with it being a new team for him (as compared to Massa). He, deserving it or not, is the strongest contender. What does the bookies say?

I really wish that I could say a Mclaren driver, but that part of me also LIKES SPEAKING IN CAPITAL LETTERS. For this reason, I shall vote for Alonso. But I really hope he doesn’t win.
