Watching the MotoGP on Saturday from the Netherlands, they cut to the pitlane for a report, and the sound cut out. It was excellent – all you could hear were the bikes hammering round. Which led me to thinking: why don’t the Beeb offer that as an option via the Red Button for the F1?

In a week of unexpected turnarounds it appears that Max Mosley and the Formula One Teams’ Association have now hugged it out: there will be no breakaway series.
