Brit GP: highlights video

I’ve slightly got the fear that I might get in trouble with Bernie for this, but I’ve got to draw your attention to it anyway. Over at Formula1.com they produce super high quality and incredibly awesome highlight videos of each F1 grand prix.

Brit GP: Kimi shoves off

There probably isn’t an F1 photographer in the world to touch the quality of Paul-Henri Cahier, but touch him Kimi Raikkonen did pre-race at Silverstone on Sunday. You can watch the naughty Raikkonen here:

“Who’s where again?”

Everything about watching a Formula 1 race in the metal is all that you could want from a motor sport event. The noise, the feeling, the smells, the fans, the atmosphere… it’s just the best. Apart from one thing: after the first round of stops, you’ve no idea what the hell’s going on.

Brit GP: Hamilton’s win

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe the quality of Lewis Hamilton’s win. It took a typical British summer’s day – wind, showers, some sun – to give Hamilton the canvas on which to display his abundance of natural talent. The Englishman didn’t put a foot wrong.

Brit GP: surprises

None of this was expected: Heikki Kovalainen on pole for the first time; Mark Webber back on the front row for the first time in four years; Felipe Massa delayed in the pits when the Ferrari mechanics had trouble changing a rear wheel.

Brit GP: pole day

You’ve got to take your hat off to McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen. While everyone else focussed on what Lewis Hamilton was going to do, Heikki kept his focus and got on with the job at hand, which landed him the grandest prize of the day: pole position at the British Grand Prix.

Brit GP: moving home

Bernie Ecclestone may be 77, but he remains a player in the shrewdest sense. In one swift, silent move this morning, he wrecked what should have been the best weekend in the British Racing Drivers’ Club social diary. And he did it on their turf. That’s what the announcement about the Brit GP was all […]

Brit GP: DC steps down

The Thursday press conference is usually something to be got through on the day you arrive at a Grand Prix. Three drivers are selected by the FIA and they must appear on pain of receiving a large fine. Most of them reflect the obligation in their disinterested replies. Today was different; the three Brits appeared.
