That’s it then, the result we all expected. The FIA have decided that McLaren’s appeal is inadmissible to be heard, on the grounds that you can’t argue against a drive-through, which Lewis’ 25 second penalty basically was. Game on for the championship!

Go on over to Formula1.com and watch their video of the weekend’s grand prix. it only takes about three minutes to view, and they have done another excellent job. (They’ve also used that brilliant Pendulum track too.)
Interesting that Hamilton has been penalised for his move at the Belgian GP. I’m one of the dissenters Adam mentioned in his blog, by the way. I think it’s harsh and maybe not quite fair, but I’m not surprised. He did a naughty thing and I blame Senna and Schumacher as much as Hamilton.

We can argue all day about the rights and wrongs of what Lewis did but for the record, I’m with the majority in thinking he’s been shafted - again. How can he have gained unfair momentum when he clearly lifted, let Kimi past and tucked in behind him before re-passing at the next corner?

Forget for a moment how the stewards reached their decision, the feeling in the media centre here is that a truly fantastic race - indeed, a great weekend after the bitterness of Spa last year - has been tainted by Formula One policing itself in a manner that makes it look incompetent.

This was race was more exciting on the first lap alone than the whole of the Euro GP the other week. There were tussles going on all over the track from the start to the finish, and proved once again why Spa is such a good place to race. Great entertainment.
