Belgian GP: advantage Ferrari

We can argue all day about the rights and wrongs of what Lewis did but for the record, I’m with the majority in thinking he’s been shafted – again. How can he have gained unfair momentum when he clearly lifted, let Kimi past and tucked in behind him before re-passing at the next corner?

Belgian GP: fallout

Forget for a moment how the stewards reached their decision, the feeling in the media centre here is that a truly fantastic race – indeed, a great weekend after the bitterness of Spa last year – has been tainted by Formula One policing itself in a manner that makes it look incompetent.

Belgian GP: race of the year?

This was race was more exciting on the first lap alone than the whole of the Euro GP the other week. There were tussles going on all over the track from the start to the finish, and proved once again why Spa is such a good place to race. Great entertainment.

Belgian GP: One rule for one…

Don’t know if you saw the GP2 race here this afternoon. It made dramatic viewing, which can be a nuisance when you’re trying to write a story on deadline for a Sunday newspaper on the F1 qualifying that preceded the GP2  and these guys are racing like there is no tomorrow.

Belgian GP: quali

So that wasn’t what I was expecting to happen. I assumed that Kimi Raikkonen would qualify on pole for tomorrow’s Belgian Grad Prix, but he isn’t there, and Britain’s Lewis Hamilton sits atop the pile instead, 0.3 seconds ahead of second place man Felipe Massa.

Belgian GP: different strokes

One year on and Spa is a different place. Very different. Twelve months ago, when you arrived on Friday morning, it was best to avoid visiting the Ferrari and McLaren compounds. Do either and you were being seen to take sides.
