Today, Mercedes are expected to confirm Nick Heidfeld as their reserve driver for 2010, while new boys USF1 have secured Argentine racer Jose Maria Lopez, and Toro Rosso have announced they will hang on to Jaime Alguersari.
Mercedes-Benz is set to buy a chunk of championship leaders Brawn GP, according to F1’s rumour mill. The German manufacturer already has a long-standing stake in McLaren, and supplies engines to Force India, but it’s apparently keen to tie up something more substantial with the Brackley-based team.
