Renault race fix?

The strangest story to come out of F1 after the Belgian GP is that the FIA is investigating Renault for an alleged race-fix, involving Nelson Piquet Jnr at last year’s Singapore night race.

Pause Button

Jenson Button will look at today and think that it could have been a lot worse. Taken out by Renault rookie Romain Grosjean on the first lap, Jenson could then only watch on from the pit wall, with his fingers crossed.

Spa break

We expected the Brawns not to be the quickest in Spa this weekend, but we certainly didn’t expect Button to not even make it into Q3 for qualifying at the Belgian GP.

Pray for rain

It looks like it’s going to be a struggle this weekend for the Brawns – if you really can take anything from practice times – with both Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello only managing 17th and 18th respectively today.

Belgian GP preview

This weekend sees the F1 circus roll into the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, for an anti-Monaco weekend. But what it lacks in glamour and glitz, it more than makes up for with pure, flat-out racing.

Who to replace Badoer?

Yeah, OK, Luca Badoer was ‘hapless’ in Valencia, but all his performance did for me was to highlight just how amazing F1 drivers are – all of them.

The Brawn supremacy

As much as it was a brilliant day for Euro GP winner Rubens Barrichello, it was an awful afternoon for his teammate Jenson Button.

Euro fighter

Lewis Hamilton took a convincing pole at the European GP in Valencia today, confirming that his McLaren is now genuinely fast and that his first win of the year in Hungary wasn’t simply a fluke.
