Seems Michael Schumacher is busier than ever since his ‘retirement’ – between official Ferrari duties, parachute jumping and, er, the odd TV appearance – so we weren’t going to miss the chance to chat F1 with him.

Overshadowing today’s practice sessions, the world of Formula 1 has gone crazy this morning, with the announcement by the Formula One Teams’ Association (FOTA) that its teams are going to leave F1 and set up their own series.

The FIA has announced the 2010 F1 entry list… and McLaren, Brawn and Prodrive aren’t on it. Quite. Well, they are. Sort of. But not exactly.

Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel pulled it out of the bag during qualifying in Istanbul for the Turkish Grand Prix, and not surprisingly, he looked pretty chuffed about it.

You remember at the end of last week all of the Formula 1 Teams’ Association (FOTA) members had signed up to race in F1 next year, and we breathed a sigh of relief? Well, it might not be quite that simple…

Lewis Hamilton is up for Monaco. The world champion put in a storming, sliding run to record the second-fastest time in second practice on the narrow street circuit this afternoon, 0.2 seconds behind Nico Rosberg in the Williams. Rosberg loves practice.

It’s Monaco time, and the cars have been out on track today getting some practice in, as, unlike every other race of the year, they don’t do any running on Friday.
This is the race that every driver wants to win, so practice has been especially intense today on the tight and twisty street circuit.
