I have to admit, I flew into a rage on Sunday afternoon and turned the TV off with a shaky hand when Mark Webber received his drive-through penalty from the stewards at the Nürburgring.
That shaky hand, desperately trying to find the ‘off’ button, only just managed to stop itself flinging the remote through the screen.
He’s done it. After 35,000 years in Formula 1, Mark Webber has finally been able to ditch his Unluckiest Driver in F1 tag to win his first race, at the German GP.
Quali at the German GP today was definitely the most exciting one of the year so far. Loads of changes at the front, and some scary moments provided by the rain.
You remember that bloke Lewis Hamilton? He was world champion at some driving game once. Loads of people liked him. Pretty handy behind the wheel? Well, he went fastest in second practice this afternoon.
Let’s try and forget about all the FOTA/FIA/WTF squabbling for a few days and talk about what we’re actually here for: racing.
It feels like a long time since Silverstone, and I can’t wait for practice to get going tomorrow for the German Grand Prix. But it looks like we have to deal with more politicking before that can happen. Groan.
