Aston Martin Chairman David Richards has revealed that his Prodrive company is looking to enter Formula One, with a view to taking up one of three available spots open to new teams next year.
There’s an interesting piece over at autosport.com, that says the Formula One Teams’ Association will be looking at the possibility of a new qualifying format for next season, which would change the whole format of F1 Saturdays as they currently are.
Is it just me, or is it strange that Flavio Briatore has signed Nelson Piquet Jnr at Renault for another year? Or is it not so strange? Maybe it’s not so strange at all.

The weekend kicked off with the press conference in a small room – unfortunate as this was the best attended of all 18 Thursday press conferences. The seats were quickly filled with journalists, leaving standing room only, much to the annoyance of photographers herded in at the back.
FIA president Max Mosley did his first proper sit down interview with the Guardian newspaper this week. On the front page was a rather flattering photograph of the man, next to the quote ‘It’s an absurd activity, therefore you keep it secret’ with the strap line ‘Max Mosley on sadomasochism’.
The problem for the Fuji Speedway is that Suzuka is in the same country. For as long as that magnificent track exists, Fuji will remain in Suzuka’s shadow. It was with great reluctance that F1 moved last year but it’s fair to say that Fuji has not been as bad as everyone expected.
A laser message projected onto the pit buildings says: ‘First F1 Night Race. Thank you for being a part of history.’ History indeed, but F1 people should be thanking the Singapore organisers for a simply superb job. And, just to round off an exceptional weekend, we had an exceptional race.
