Honda returns to F1 with McLaren

So McLaren have opted for the ‘let’s put the band back together’ route out of its current malaise with confirmation that, from 2015 onwards, it will once again be McLaren-Honda. Sore points?

How much would you pay for an F1 championship point? Cash up front, for the privilege of having it sitting there on your mantelpiece, to impress visitors and so forth. A tenner? A few hundred? How about $28.5 million?

Brazilian GP: warming up

The weekend kicked off with the press conference in a small room – unfortunate as this was the best attended of all 18 Thursday press conferences. The seats were quickly filled with journalists, leaving standing room only, much to the annoyance of photographers herded in at the back.

Not-so-silly season

I love the silly season between the end of one year’s racing and the beginning of the next. Who’s going where, which drivers are changing teams, how that impacts on other free seats… there’s just something about the intrigue that gets me. It’s like the US presidential race, but actually interesting.

Honda’s KERS jump

Here’s something interesting to distract us from the Lewis Did-He-Didn’t-He hoo-hah: Honda ran their KERS at the Jerez test last week, and their engineers reckon that the system is right on target to be ready for the start of next season.
