Lewis bags a win

Lewis Hamilton’s win today at the Hungarian GP must have seemed as long in coming to him as Mark Webber’s did at the German GP a couple of weeks ago.

Hungary quali

Today’s qualifying was something of a shambles right at the end, when the timing screens went down and no one knew who’d put in the fastest lap. ‘I got a 1’21.5,’ said Fernando Alonso. ‘What did you get?’

Lewis gets something to smile about

Just a quickie on practice today in Hungary, as it was all very noses-to-the-grindstone, with everyone calmly getting on with their business. Until Lewis Hamilton banged in a flyer right at the end of the second session.

Hungary for the win

When you’re an F1 driver in contract negotiations, there’s nothing like winning a race to raise your share price. As Mark Webber’s just found out: Red Bull have retained his services for 2010.

Hungarian GP: Heik up

About time Kovalainen had some luck. There may have been a stroke of good fortune about Heikki’s first win but it would make up for the series of problems (loose wheel in Spain and big shunt; bad Safety Car in Melbourne; steering wheel electronics in Monaco) that had compromised his first season with McLaren-Mercedes.

Hungarian GP: Heikki’s luck

When Felipe Massa was sitting in the Ferrari caravan after the race, listening to the Finnish anthem being played for winner Heikki Kovalainen, I imagine the Brazilian must have felt a bit like when you discover that your girlfriend used to be a man.
