It’s oil over for Lewis…

You might have seen Santander’s new ad with Lewis Hamilton over the last few days – it debuted on Sunday – and we’ve managed to track down the ‘making of’ on good ol’ YouTube. It’s a tad cheesy, but there’s some interesting bits in it, especially the camera on a tiny dolly:
I’m so fed up with this post-race rule changing. It was confusing enough that Lewis Hamilton got promoted to third after the Oz GP finished, but now he’s been disqualified.
A lot of people over the past few weeks have made comments on here along the lines of, ‘now that Lewis Hamilton has a rubbish car we’ll see that he’s not actually that good,’ yet his performance on Sunday put paid to that. Or at least it should have.
‘Phoenix from the flames’ is an overused phrase relating to Brawn GP, but it’s no less apt because of it. A Brawn one-two in Australia – who’d have predicted that only a month ago?
Now that was intense. If you’d have asked me at the end of last year to predict which Brit would be on pole in Australia 2009, I wouldn’t have called it for Jenson Button. But what an amazing story that it is.
Who’d a thunk it? We’d grown used to the cars and drivers that would top leaders boards in F1 over the last few seasons, but today’s practice times have bucked all that.
It’s nearly upon us. Even with all the winter testing and new regulations excitement, it’s felt like a long time since Felipe Massa took the chequered flag in Brazil last year.
