German GP: Kimi trouble

So what’s going on with Kimi Raikkonen? The unofficial word from inside Ferrari is they’re getting a little ‘disappointed’ with the world champion’s inconsistency. Qualifying at Hockenheim was a good example when he could do no better than sixth.

German GP: Vettel to RBR

Sebastian Vettel must be pretty chuffed with his lot at the moment. He’s outperforming team mate Sebastian Bourdais and is being hailed as the next Schumacher on home turf by the local press. But today must be even rosier for him.

Everything about watching a Formula 1 race in the metal is all that you could want from a motor sport event. The noise, the feeling, the smells, the fans, the atmosphere… it’s just the best. Apart from one thing: after the first round of stops, you’ve no idea what the hell’s going on.

Brit GP: Hamilton’s win

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe the quality of Lewis Hamilton’s win. It took a typical British summer’s day – wind, showers, some sun – to give Hamilton the canvas on which to display his abundance of natural talent. The Englishman didn’t put a foot wrong.

Brit GP: surprises

None of this was expected: Heikki Kovalainen on pole for the first time; Mark Webber back on the front row for the first time in four years; Felipe Massa delayed in the pits when the Ferrari mechanics had trouble changing a rear wheel.
