Mercedes-Benz is set to buy a chunk of championship leaders Brawn GP, according to F1’s rumour mill. The German manufacturer already has a long-standing stake in McLaren, and supplies engines to Force India, but it’s apparently keen to tie up something more substantial with the Brackley-based team.

Ferrari have just sent out a mailshot asking their website users to vote on whether the Formula One Teams Association has made the right decision to organise a new championship next year, as an alternate to F1.
